Documentation website: Switch from Docpad to Hugo

Follow

We are currently preparing to change the tool to be used to generate our documentation websites from Docpad to Hugo.

Besides improvements in the anchor navigation within the pages, the biggest advantage of Hugo is that building the pages is so much quicker than with Docpad.

At the same time we will entirely keep the content, structure, and look and feel of the pages and we will not change any URLs or redirects so that all links will keep working.

For those of you creating the documentation from our repository we would like to provide the opportunity to try it out, before we entirely switch to Hugo.

The branch to be used to test it is:

replace-docpad-with-hugo

You will find further instructions in the Readme provided in the branch.

Note, that for now you have to add the name of any of the guides to the end of the URL (e.g. http://localhost:1234/guides/users-guide) to avoid being redirected to the official documentation page.
